KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SHARING 2016

WHY KM FDSC_3988-1024x683AILS?‘ became a theme in Knowledge Management Sharing 2016 in MBA ITB Jakarta that was held on January 20th, 2016. This forum was attended by participants from various institutions and government.
This forum began with the opening of the KMSI President, Prof. Jann Hidajat who showed three videos and one of them is about happiness. Mr Jann told the definition ofhappiness and how happiness is constructed. Happinesscan be obtained if we want to build relationships and be heartfelt.
Furthermore, the forum was continued with the material delivered by Mr. Ismet Komarudin, Vice President Human Capital PT. Industrial Engineering. In this session, he explained how Knowledge Management was established in PT. Industrial Engineering. The participants was enthusiastic when Mr. Ismet was explaining because the presented material was very interesting. Although KM has been being established in PT. Industrial Engineering since 2005, but there are still challenges for PT. Industrial engineering to do KM. The several challenges included the replacement of director who caused a KM strategy designed by the previous director could not be executed well, inadequate facilities and technology, and KM considered boring. Thus, to deal with those obstacles, KM in PT. Industrial engineering built systems to support KM. For the problem of director transition can be solved by generating a new strategic plan especially related to Human Resource.
After Mr. Ismet Komarudin had shared his KM experience inPT. Industrial engineering, it was continued withmaterial delivered by Mr. Hendri Ma‘ruf. This second session described how applied KM can succeed and fail. Things that make KM failed are lack of awareness and understanding, forgetting organizational culture,forgetting to synergize KM on the company’s business, not preparing the knowledge leaders, etc. While KM can be successful because several dimensions as follows:

  • Sharing and learning

  • Profit
The forum ended with a discussion session for 60 minutes and takingpictures with the participants andspeakers. The experience shared in KM Sharing was very inspiring for the participants in applying KM andhandling the barriers in their company or organization. The participants expect the KM sharing can be heldregularly.
